FOOD & DRINKS: The cookery of the Bahamas has been influenced by many cultures - elements of the American South, the Caribbean, Britain,Spain and Africa have altered the course of Bahamian cuisine throughout history. Tomato-based dishes, featuring local seafood and meat, and with seasonings such as thyme and spicy hot peppers, are frequent and popular main courses, whilst native fruits and locally produced rum feature in local desserts and cocktails. The Bahamian Kalik-Beer tastes delicous. The same is with the various Rum-Mixdrinks, like Bahama Mama or Goombay Smash. Excellent wines are from Chile, but also from California or France and Italy and Germany.
